You may have heard the word “pavers” tossed around by neighbors looking to renovate their outdoor space. Or by a contractor hired to put in a pool deck. Or by a friend looking to create a DIY firepit. What are they though? You don’t have to wonder anymore.

Pavers are individual interlocking stones that are most commonly used as exterior flooring. Pavers are generally made in factories by pouring a mixture of concrete and some type of coloring agent into a mold of a particular shape and allowing to set. They are typically made in one of 4 materials: clay, stone, brick, or concrete.

They are predominately used in landscape design and have become the desired material for building long lasting outdoor projects. They are durable, interchangeable, and you can’t beat the look. That’s because they come in a vast array of colors and styles. And that’s not even the best part about their aesthetics. What’s cool about pavers is the fact that you can customize them into a variety of different patterns and configurations to suit your tastes. With pavers, the possibilities are endless! It’s like an outdoor art project! Beautiful and yet still very practical.
